Hey [Class / Everyone],
Quick share: Clever Prep EyeQ® just opened a free NBEO Part 1 research preview, and from what I've seen it actually looks built for optometry students in a way the $2,000+ options haven't been.
A few things that stood out:
- Built specifically for optometry students by a team that's run test prep for years
- Reviewed and endorsed by 13 MCO faculty, practicing optometrists who are experts in the content
- A built-in AI tutor trained on that same vetted content. Ask it anything about a topic and get accurate, exam-relevant answers, not generic internet guesses
- The modern toolset other health-profession exams already have: a bigger question bank, spaced repetition, and analytics that tell you exactly what to study next, finally built for optometry
- Their pilot study (18 of 25 optometry schools participated) confirmed what most of us feel: current prep doesn't always match what our schools teach
Making it free isn't an individual deal. It's to gather data showing a modern, school-aligned platform can be just as effective as the pricier options. The more students who join, the stronger that case gets.
The "ask" is small: you just use the platform. Research questions are baked in, 10 to 15 minutes total across your whole 3 to 6 months of studying. At the end they'll ask (not require) for NBEO Part 1 score release.
If you're testing Part 1 in March, this is built for you. If you've already taken it or aren't there yet, please forward to anyone who could use it.
